Quote from Death of Salesman; Act 2, pg 105

"Why am I trying to become what I don't want to be? What am I doing in an office, making a contemptuous, begging fool of myself, when all I want is out there, waiting for me the minute I say I know who I am!"

Aren't we all like Willy Loman sometimes? I think many of us strive to be something we don't necessarily want to be. We usually try to be something just because the rest of the world desires that. We fear to be different; we all want to belong in the same category as everyone else.
